Full Support to Minimize IVF Patients Burden
Full Support to Minimize IVF Patients Burden
Once transport arrangements begin, GREEN8 will handle all communication with the clinics, the preparation of LN2 and dry-shipper, and arrangements for pick-up/collection on behalf of the patient — thus keeping the burden on you to a minimum.

Professional Temperature-Controlled Transport
We have years of experience maintaining the temperature required for reproductive cells such as embryos, oocytes, and sperms. Since ultra-cold temperatures (below -190 °C) with enough liquid nitrogen (LN2) is essential in IVF transport, we manage temperature control precisely to maintain the quality of precious embryos, oocytes and sperm in each transfer.

Main characters of GREEN8 IVF Transport
Reliable Shipping service
GREEN8 Japan uses IATA approved and validated “dry shippers” (vacuum insulated containers for liquid nitrogen) to maintain the cryo frozen state of embryos; we handle the pre-cooling of the shipper so the tanks are properly pre-cooled and prepared in advance before the inversion of embryos, oocytes or sperms.

Transfer01
Tracking & Monitoring
GREEN8 provides 24/7 real-time tracking, so you can check where your precious specimens are in Japan and around the globe, and under what conditions and status they’re being transported, simply by entering a tracking number.
Transfer02
What is a Dry Shipper?
A “dry shipper” is a specialized container used to transport eggs, sperm, fertilized eggs, or embryos in liquid-nitrogen temperature conditions (-190℃ or below) for 15 days or more. Our dry shippers meet all IATA, as well as international transport standards, so that we can handle both inbound and outbound global transports smoothly.

Transfer03
X-Rays
It is impossible to guarantee 100% avoidance of X-rays for international transfer since airports and airlines require by law to conduct security screening without exceptions sometimes when there is a terror alert or other national security warnings. However, GREEN8 understands how IVF specimens, including embryos, oocytes and sperms are sensitive and how it X-rays is not desirable. GREEN8 will coordinate each transfer with special instructions in respect to each carriers and airport authorities so that specimens related to fertility treatment are not exposed to X-rays during each international transport.

Transfer04
Hand-carry Services
Do not risk your precious embryos or oocytes by illegal international transfers. International Hand-carry service without proper declaration to customs or FDA and quarantine is illegal and not compliant with national and international regulations. For international transport of human-derived reproductive cells (such as embryos, eggs, sperm, etc.), GREEN8 properly complies with full customs and quarantine declarations in line with each country’s regulations. We follow all applicable laws for export/import and quarantine procedures as required.

Transfer05
Cargo Insurance
For international transport of reproductive cells, special cargo insurance is available with two plans: one “with temperature guarantee” clause and another “without temperature guarantee” cargo insurance clause. The “with temperature guarantee” plan uses a temperature logger during the transfer from pickup to delivery, to verify that the appropriate environment was maintained during transport. We prioritize safety in protecting your valuable specimens.

Transfer06
Temperature Management
For IVF transport, managing temperature below -190 °C is indispensable. We use dry shippers that have been thoroughly pre-cooled and ensure stable frozen conditions for 15 days or more. If any unexpected delay or hold-up occurs during transit, we replenish liquid nitrogen at our facilities to maintain appropriate specimen temperature.

Transfer07
Dry Shipper Rental
GREEN8 Japan also offer rental of dry shippers designed for safe embryo transport domestically in Japan by patients themselves. Rental starts from a minimum of 10 days, so you can use them flexibly according to your schedule. Pre-cooling of the dry shipper can also be arranged as an option. This is ideal for long-distance transport or temporary storage of your IVF specimens domestically in Japan — feel free to contact us to inquire price and details.

Precautions for Frozen Embryo Transfer
Precautions
- Please discuss and complete the transfer procedures (with your clinic) for frozen embryos, oocytes or sperm transfer. Each clinic or medical institutes has a different consent form or procedures to allow the transfer of embryos, oocytes or sperms.
- If you have preferred pickup/delivery date(s) due to a storage expiry or limit to transfer your specimen, please inform GREEN8 in advance. GREEN8 will arrange for the transfer as much as possible according to the requested dates.
- If you need a short or long term cryo- storage of your embryos, oocytes or sperm in Japan, please contact GREEN8 Japan for Cryo Frozen storage services.
- For overseas transport, depending on the destination country, it may take time to confirm whether the receiving clinic holds export/import permit. Plan a head and inform GREEN8 in advance of your cryo IVF transfers.

FAQ
FAQ
The medical IVF clinic is asking me (the patient) to be present at the pickup time to confirm the details of the embryos which I like to transfer. Can GREEN8 arrange pickup so that I am present at the pickup?
Yes — upon request, you may accompany collection. GREEN8 can meet you at the clinic at the pickup. If you live far away and cannot visit the clinic at the pickup /collection time, submitting a power of attorney allowing GREEN8 to act as your proxy to the clinic may allow collection without your presence. Consult your clinic about the POA option.
Is it possible to borrow a dry shipper from the clinic and only request GREEN8 to conduct the transportation?
In principle, we cannot guarantee the cryo-frozen temperature of the transfer without our validated tanks. Due to the nature of temperature-controlled transport, GREEN8 cannot guarantee temperatures in containers we do not own.
I have two embryos at two different hospitals which I like to transfer to another prefecture in Japan for implant and further IVF treatment. Can you transfer from both hospitals to one new clinic in Japan?
Yes — we conduct transfers from multiple clinics and hospitals to a desired new clinic. Contact each clinic in advance to get approvals for the transfer.
Is there a risk of my specimen being mixed up with someone else’s during transport?
No — we assign a dedicated dry shipper for each customer, so mixing is not possible. Also, the clinic’s embryologists verify the specimen at collection.
Do I need to coordinate transfer schedules with the clinics in advance, and then contact GREEN8 for the transport?
No — GREEN8 will contact both the collection clinic and the destination clinic on your behalf. You do not need to handle schedule coordination yourself. We will take care of the scheduling, coordination and inform you the expected transfer date in advance. If you have a preferred date of transfer, please let us know as well.
Can transport be done on weekends?
Normally we operate weekdays only. However, if clinics or patients request weekend pick‐up/delivery, GREEN8 can accommodate with an additional weekend/holiday service fee.
What is the lead time for transport?
It depends on the distance/routing between clinics — domestically it typically takes 1 to 3 days; internationally about 1 to 5 days. Please contact us for details.
I would like to send frozen embryos, frozen sperm and SEET solution from my current clinic all at once to another clinic. Is that possible?
Yes it is possible — GREEN8 IVF Trasport service can accept all materials transfer together in one dry shipper. Or if the Stimulation of Endometrium-Embryo Transfer; (SEET) are requested to be transported at a different cold +2 to +8 C range, that is also possible.
Does cost vary depending on the number or type of specimens?
For dry shipper transport, generally cost does not differ based on the number or type of specimens. The volume of cryo specimens (cryotech, cryotop, straws, or tubes) is fixed in each dry-shipper tank so contact us with details.
Is there a service where I can monitor specimen temperature or location during transport?
Yes — as an option, GREEN8 offers temperature monitoring logger during the transport, and our online tracking service is available for you to check the status of delivery.
